Notice of 2016-2017 Budget Hearing with Summary

 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING OF COLFAX COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Colfax County Board of Commissioners will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in the Commissioners Room of the Colfax County Courthouse in Schuyler, Nebraska.   The meeting is open to the public. The agenda for the meeting is kept continuously current and is available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk in the Colfax County Courthouse, Schuyler, Nebraska

Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be enlarged later than 24 hours before the scheduled commencement of the meeting.

Special accommodations, including interpreter services, Braille, large print or recorded materials can be provided by contacting the County Clerk’s office at (402) 352-8504 no later than 3:00 p.m. the Friday before the scheduled meeting. 

 

NOTICE of PUBLIC HEARING Colfax County Commissioners

Notice is hereby given, that (3) Public Hearings of the Colfax County Commissioners will be held during their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Colfax County Courthouse Commissioner’s Room, located @ 411 East 11th Street in Schuyler, Nebraska for the purpose of hearing testimony of support, opposition, criticism, suggestions or observations for: 

  1. A Conditional Use Application by Werner Construction, Inc, for construction of a temporary asphalt plant to produce material for an area road construction project (Highway 15) on approximately +/- 7 acres (of 111 acres) belonging to Roger Cech in the A-1 Agricultural Preservation District with a floodplain overlay. This is located in part of the Southwest Quarter (SW ¼) along Road T just East of Highway 15 in Section 26, Township 20N, Range 3E, East of the 6th P.M. (Principal Meridian) of Colfax County, State of Nebraska.
  2. Resolution 04-25-17(1) – Addition / Amendment to Section 4.19 FP Floodplain Overlay District
    4.19.06 Flood Fringe Overlay District (including AO and AH Zones)
    2.H – Appurtenant Structures may have their lowest floor below the one foot above the base flood             elevation provided:
    • Add/Amend:
      (3) The structure must be built using flood damage resistant materials.  (Amend by removing the words unfinished and)
      (4) The structure must be wet floodproofed and designed to automatically equalize hydrostatic flood forces on exterior walls by allowing for the entry and exit of floodwaters. Designs for meeting this requirement must either be certified by a registered professional engineer or architect of the State of Nebraska or meet or exceed the following minimum criteria: A minimum of two openings having a total net area of the not less than one (1) square inch for every one (1) square foot of enclosed area subject to flooding shall be provided. The bottom of all openings shall be not higher than one foot above grade. Openings may be equipped with screens, louvers, valves, or other coverings or devices provided that they allow the automatic entry and exit of floodwaters. (Add)

An agenda for said meeting is kept continuously current and available by request from the County Clerk. Questions or comments concerning the public meeting and hearings may be directed to the Colfax County Clerk’s Office at 402/352-8504. All interested parties may offer oral comments at the public hearing and/ or may file written comments with the Colfax County Commissioners concerning the petition and such comments shall be considered by the Commissioners, provided such written comments are received by the County Clerk prior to the public hearing date.
